When acute neck or lower back pain occurs, rest as soon as possible. Do not work through your pain. This causes more trauma to the tissue. Use pillows to support your body and seek medical care. With chronic lower back pain, quick or unbalanced movements may aggravate the condition. Move slowly and with good body alignment.
